Who Will Experience Revival

Who Will Experience Revival
Evang. Caleb Garraway, 4/21/2013

Isaiah 57:15 – For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

The specific person who will experience revival = The person described above – The man who is humble and contrite before God.

God cannot allow sin to dwell in His presence.

God dwells in heaven, but will also dwell with the type of person in this verse.

How is your fire?

A fire WILL go out, if left to itself.

Revival is a time when we can store up some wood for the fire – that is, truths for the future.

To be revived is to be in a state of emergency – that is, under resuscitation.

Our heart, every day, should be the heart of God: The heart of revival. This is Bible-Based Humility. We are UNWORTHY to be a child of God!

Humility = A correct giew of God and ourselves – The first will bring about the second. E.g.: Isaiah (Isaiah Ch. 6)

We must not lose sight of Who God is!

Psalm 46:10 – Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Psalm 100:3 – Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

There will be a refreshing, renewal, and rejoicing in our heart.

“Know ye that the LORD, He is God.”

I am small, and He is sovereign. And I am NOTHING compared to Him!

Psalm 51:17 – The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

The passion for the Christian life should start WITHIN.

Our circumstances should not ruin our rejoicing.

God puts all things into our life for our good.

Do we love God the way we should as a result?

God’s way is the BEST and the BLEST way!

This should improve, not destroy, our walk with God.

God is who He says He is: A SOVEREIGN GOD.

FORGET what you’ve done, and MOVE FORWARD.

GET INTO the path God’s given you.

Psalm 16:11 – “Thou wilt show me the path of life …”

GOD WANTS TO USE YOU!

In the midst of seven billion people, God never loses sight of us!

Exodus 14:11-13 – “And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.”

E.g. Hezekiah vs. Seneccharib.

God wants to fight your battles for you! – See Job 23:8-24:1

1. We need to realize that God is still in control

2. We need to realize that God is still on the throne – 1 Cor 10:13 – ” There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” And …

3. We need to be faithful in doing what God’s called us to do.

Missions Update: The Dovers to Peru

Friday, 08/20/2010

Dear Pastors and praying friends,

Well, we are back! I can not tell you all how grateful I am just to be able to say that! It was a very long trip! (6 weeks) Even though we did not find the Mashco-Piro there is still so much to tell of all we went through and all the Lord did to glorify His name, but first of all I would like for all of you to hear from my brother-in-law, and long time fellowservant, Josh Martyn. Josh and I have been friends, prayer partners, and preaching/witnessing partners for ten years now and it has been a great joy and blessing for me that he has been able to come down here and travel with me in the Lord’s service. God has laid a call and burden on his heart for the lost sheep in Peru just as He has mine. I know Josh longs to be here and find these people just as much as I do and I am so grateful to the Lord for giving me a like-hearted co-laborer in this matter. I have asked Josh to write to you all in his own words.

Missions Update: Lee and Janelle Peterson to South Africa

Friday, 07/24/2009

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your prayers as we continue to travel to our supporting churches while on furlough. For those of you who don’t remember, we arrived May 1st in the states and immediately began preparing new prayer cards and our dvd presentation. We have visited churches in New Jersey, Ohio, South and North Dakota and Minnesota so far.

On the family side, we were thankful to be able to spend time with the grandparents and see the children make memories with each one. The younger ones–Myles and Autumn–still call each grandparent “Grandpa” no matter who it is and the older children cannot get enough fishing in! It was a blessing to see extended family as well at the Courts reunion in June and Peterson reunion in July.

Recently Lee has been at camp in Wyoming as the missionary speaker. We were thrilled to be able to send Samantha and Carissa to junior camp for their first “camping” experience. When asked what they did all week, they mentioned the zip line, archery, making boats out of recycled materials and all the stories that “Dad” would elaborate during his sessions. The rest of the family are anxiously awaiting to have Dad home again!

Our schedule for the next month:

August 2—Elkton, SD
August 3-5—-VBS in Elkton, SD
Aug 9—Baker, Montana
Aug 16—Hulett, Wyoming
Aug 23—Casper, Wyoming (am); Sturgis, SD (pm)
Aug 30—Eagle, Colorado

Prayer Requests:

1) Lee’s health–fighting off an infection and parasite
2) safety in traveling
3) monies needed to pay off plane tickets
4) safe delivery of baby (January 2)

We have been humbled in visiting our churches with their warm reception and love gifts and we are thankful to God for the “Team” that He has given us to allow us to serve in South Africa. Thank you for your many prayers and words of encouragement!

Sincerely,
Janelle for the Peterson family
